UPDATED 20150720 10:47:16

Please note this course will run every other Thursday. The aim of this Spanish Intermediate - Hablemos course in Canterbury is to give students the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge of the language and culture through enjoyable and interesting interaction in a group. Students will be asked for suggestions and ideas at the beginning of the course. They will choose topics that are relevant to them. The topics chosen could be linked to those covered in other Spanish Intermediate courses. Students will build upon material covered in Year 3 and year 4 courses. They will develop language accuracy and fluency in a range of everyday situations at a more complex level and increase their confidence in applying the present, past and future tenses. By the end of the course students should be able to: -communicate on a wide range of topics and be able to extract detailed information from various sources (newspaper and magazine articles, telephone messages/conversations audio/visual resources), -deal with topics of a familiar/unfamiliar nature with the help of a dictionary. Students will consolidate previously studied grammar and gain confidence in using the tenses accurately. Students will gain an insight into the culture of the country where the language is spoken. For those who have studied the language for approximately 200 hours, or have completed either an Intermediate course or a GCSE course. (grade D/E). Please note this course involves some reading and note taking. Students may be able to join the course after it has started if they have appropriate knowledge. The Programme Manager will be able to advise.
