This Tai Chi beginners course centres on relaxation and balance. We will learn different techniques and sets of exercises, all taken from the world of Tai Chi and Qigong, that lead towards greater relaxation and improved balance, as well as contribute to other aspects of well being of both body and mind. We will also touch on the philosophy of Tai Chi and how it can be used in everyday life. Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise. The movement follows the natural ways of the body. Progress is slow to allow students to experience awareness of both body and mind as they exercise. This can often leave you feeling calm and relaxed . Please be aware that there are slight variations between Tai Chi teachers generally. Outcomes are as follows: Student should be able to perform first Tai Chi sequence. Demonstrate at least two Shibashi exercises. Demonstrate use of sitting meditation, Demonstrate partners work (Sticking) The course is suitable for people who are totally new to Tai Chi or with little experience. People of all ages can do this course. People with varied health problems, such as joint/bone problems, stress etc? are welcome. Please note: Most exercises are performed standing up and moving around.
