Learn to paint with oils and acrylics.This oil painting and acrylics course provides you with an opportunity to learn and apply the skills and techniques, of oil painting or acrylics as well as to acquire some understanding of the subject. By the end of this art course you should be able to, have developed your skills in mixing colours. know how to mix dark tones without using black paint. have researched various artists from different historical periods. demonstrate various techniques for depicting landscapes and seascapes. This oil painting and acrylic course is for absolute beginners who have no experience of painting with oils/acrylics. It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices.If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
