UPDATED 20150720 10:38:45

Would you like to speak Spanish like the Spanish? Then this 30 week Spanish Advanced Plus course is for you. You will learn how to communicate in Spanish with a near-native degree of fluency and accuracy. By the end of the course you students should be able to: Exchange views confidently on a range of topical subjects. - Take part confidently in a discussion with native speakers with a near native command of the language. - Use language, vocabulary, idiomatic and colloquial expressions appropriate to the formality of the situation and subject, and to the context and culture. - Obtain information, ideas and opinions from a variety of sources. - Extract required details fully and accurately. - Deal with texts of a technical nature with the help of a dictionary or other reference source. - Produce written texts for a variety of purposes. Modify language to communicate in ways appropriate to the context and relationship between writer and reader. This 30 week course is aimed at those who have a sound knowledge of grammar, having covered the majority of verb tenses including the present, imperfect and pluperfect subjunctive. The aim of the course is to gain greater confidence in oral production of the language, whilst at the same time learning about the history/culture of Spain or a Spanish speaking country (three topics on the latter will be studied during the course). The final term will be devoted exclusively to conversation, whereas the first two will include a mixture of all 4 skills and homework tasks will be set. The main objective is to enjoy the whole learning experience in a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere, to expand vocabulary and reach the end of the course knowing so much more than at the beginning and feeling far more confident in conversing with native speakers. If you have any doubts please contact the centre to ask to speak to the tutor before enrolling. For those who have either studied the language for approximately 300 hours
