On this Guitar - Improvers course in Sittingbourne, you will learn a useful range of chord progressions and fingerstyle and strumming techniques including bar chords and knowledge of the fingerboard. Learn short riffs and guitar solos. Explore a range of musical styles and develop your musical skills by playing in an ensemble (you choose which part to play). This course aims to expand a learner's knowledge of the guitar and its repertoire. Students will learn new pieces for guitar while simultaneously widening their knowledge of the key composers for the instrument. The course will also cover relevant music theory and performance techniques. By the end of the course you should be able to: Play technical exercises (including scales) at appropriate level. Play pieces of music (individual, duet, ensemble) at appropriate level. Understand and apply music theory at appropriate level. Sight read music at appropriate level. To benefit fully from this course, students are advised to practice the exercises and pieces in their own time. Students who have completed a Beginners course or for those who have a basic knowledge of guitar playing and a knowledge of primary chords. The course is suitable for students who wish to improve their knowledge of chords and techniques and gain musical enjoyment from the experience of playing in an ensemble.
