Hand Knitting for Beginners

UPDATED 20150720 10:32:10

Learn (or re-learn) the basics of hand knitting, from casting on, plain and purl stitches, to casting off. We will also look at increases and decreases, yarn types and weights, needle sizes and tension and good finishing techniques. As the course progresses, you will be able to work towards a set project, such as a scarf or cushion, or start to make a knitted item of your choice with guidance. By the end of the course;, you should have knowledge of a range of knitting stitches, you should be able to cast on and off successfully, you should be able to 'read' your knitting and start to learn to correct mistakes, you should have the key skills to be able to start your own knitting projects, There is no set 'homework', but you will get the most out of the course if you are able to continue your work at home. There is no qualification for this course. Complete beginners at handknitting
