Digital Photography - Beginners

UPDATED 20150720 10:28:26

The aim of this course is to advance students from only being able to use their cameras on automatic to giving them the knowledge and ability to begin using cameras to their full potential. Students will download images and be tutored through the basic functions of Photoshop Elements. Students should finish the course with the confidence and understanding of how best to use their camera to produce images that are more than just snapshots. Please note:- If you are storing any data/images on transferrable data devices (memory sticks, portable hard drives, etc), please make sure that you have back-up files saved at home and when removing devices have followed the 'safely removing hardware' guidelines on the PC. Please also note that the version of Photoshop Elements used may be different from your own (if you have it). By the end of this course you should be able to: use your camera more confidently, understand more about functions and settings, use photography techniques to take better pictures, use software to store and manipulate your pictures, There will be a little 'homework' after some sessions, e.g. taking photos to use in the next session, but you will also probably want to practise what you have learned. There is no qualification for this course. For beginners and those with a little experience, who have their own digital SLR camera and would like to be able to use it more confidently.
