If you are a complete beginner or in need of a refresher then this is the course for you. Through the use of a wide range of mediums including pencil, charcoal, pastels, acrylics and oil paints you will explore the subject matter Landscape. The tutor will lead you through a wide range of projects, to build up your knowledge and experience of the materials, processes and techniques used to build up a Landscape drawing or painting, based on the work of both historical, modern and contemporary artists. You will have the opportunity to experiment and develop your own style through the creation of original pieces of artwork. There is a structured but relaxed learning plan which will identify your individual needs, to help you reach your goals as you practise and develop your skills. By the end of the course you will be able to: See improvement in your drawing skills. Make choices about subject matter and composition, through the use of reference material and observational drawings. Use a wider range of materials including pencil, pastel, acrylic and oil paints. Create depth in a landscape drawing/painting. Explore a variety of mark making techniques. Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines. Absolute beginners or those with a little experience or those interested in exploring the Landscape in painting. It is important to note that Art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.
