Tai Chi - Advanced

Tai Chi is a combination of relaxation and toning exercises, promoting harmony and health, balancing the mind, body and spirit. The movements are slow and deliberate and together can help to improve mental and physical well-being. At the end of the course students will be familiar with a least part of the Tai Chi Hand Form and have practiced movements to help improve their balance, strength, mobility and co-ordination. Your tutor will explain the benefits of Tai Chi and how you can apply them to your daily life. You will be recommended to practice the techniques regularly at home. The following learning objectives are what students should achieve during the course: Explain the philosophy, history and terminology of Tai Chi, Demonstrate the form using correct alignment, Identify the benefits of regular Tai Chi practice, Demonstrate and explain Tai Chi relaxation methods. It is worth noting that Tai Chi forms may vary as well of styles of teaching. This course is designed for people who have an interest in Tai Chi or Martial Art forms and who want to deepen their understanding of this form of exercise comprised of slow gentle movements in a standing position. Please take a moment to consider the list below. If you have suffered from any of the conditions listed, please check with a medical practitioner whether it is suitable for you to undertake an exercise programme and bring a referral letter from your doctor to your tutor.
