UPDATED 20150720 10:19:08

This Creative Writing Workshop - Getting Started is designed to introduce anyone who wishes to engage in the process of writing to its potential as a form of self-expression and as a form of sharing and exploring imaginative and creative ideas. The course will include some analysis of what constitutes effective writing and a range of different stimuli will be used to inspire discussion and written work. By the end of the course, students should be able to: recognise four key elements of effective writing, write effectively in two different styles or genres, create and develop fictional characters, share work with others, The course involves reading and note taking, but also provides opportunities to write creatively in at least two different genres.
