This Counselling Skills Certificate CPCAB Level 2 (CSK-2) course in Ashford forms the first stage in professional counselling training. It will provide a foundation for anyone who uses counselling skills at work or in other roles. It will enable you to develop a range of counselling skills, ethically and safely. The course covers self-awareness and self-reflection in the helping role, the establishment of boundaries, understanding diversity and active listening. Successful completion of the course will mean that you will be able to: Demonstrate an understanding of working with others within an ethical framework. - Establish and sustain the boundaries of the helping role in practice. - Work empathetically as a helper, focussing on the helpee's needs and concerns. - Use a range of counselling skills to facilitate the helping interaction. - Demonstrate the use of reflection and feedback to enhance counselling skills. For applicants who want to learn counselling skills to help others, either in a voluntary or an employed situation. This Counselling Skills course will provide you with the first steps towards becoming a professional therapeutic counsellor, providing listening skills in a variety of workplace and informal situations. The course is also useful for those who want to find out more about the counselling field. It is not necessary to have completed an introductory course before enrolling on this course, but we do advise those with no previous counselling experience and knowledge to do so. To be successful in all aspects of this course, it is recommended that you don't enrol if you have undergone a life-changing experience during the last 12 months. The Programme Manager and tutor will interview you to ensure your suitability for the course and will give you information about the course and what it will involve.
