This 10 week 'Yoga - Beginners' course in Deal will enable you to learn basic yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques. Your tutor will explain the benefits and how you can apply them to your daily life. You will be recommended to practice regularly at home. By the end of this course you should be able to: Demonstrate and hold basic postures using correct alignment, Practise basic control of breath, Identify the benefits of yoga practice, Discuss basic Yoga philosophy, history and terminology This Yoga class in Deal is for people of all ages interested in exercise, keep fit and maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle. The course is for beginners and those with some experience of yoga. Please take a moment to consider the list below. If you have suffered from any of the conditions listed, please check with a medical practitioner whether it is suitable for you to undertake an exercise programme and bring a referral letter from your doctor to your tutor. If you have not checked, or if it is not suitable, please do not participate in this class. - Do you ever have pains in your chest? Have you had any operations or injuries in the last year? Do you often feel faint or have spells of dizziness? Are you receiving medication for any condition? Do you have high blood pressure? Do you have a bone or joint problem, such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, back or knee problems? We advise anyone with a pre-existing medical condition to seek advice from their GP before exercising. Pregnant students should not attend classes until they are at least 16 weeks pregnant.

Entry requirements

You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Denim jeans, formal trousers, skirts or dresses are not suitable for this activity. Yoga is generally practiced in bare feet or socks and all movements are performed on a mat. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. Students need to bring a mat to work on and may wish to bring a towel. Please bring water and avoid eating one and a half hour prior to exercising.
