Belly Dancing - Beginners

This belly dance course in Deal will cover correct posture for Egyptian belly dance, core moves, travelling steps, work with a prop (veil/skirt /or cane) and we will put some step combinations or a choreography together . This class is suitable for beginners and people with some experience. Please take a moment to consider the list below. If you have suffered from any of the conditions listed, please check with a medical practitioner whether it is suitable for you to undertake an exercise programme and bring a referral letter from your doctor to your tutor. If you have not checked, or if it is not suitable, please do not participate in this class. - Do you ever have pains in your chest? Have you had any operations or injuries in the last year? Do you often feel faint or have spells of dizziness? Are you receiving medication for any condition? Do you have high blood pressure? Do you have a bone or joint problem, such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Back or knee, problems? If you have a disability and think it may affect your learning in the classroom, or using any of our other services, please speak to us in confidence as soon as possible. We will discuss options with you and do our best to provide the support you would like.

Entry requirements

You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. Circle skirts can be worn. A scarf to tie round your hips is advantageous but not essential. You should wear shoes with a soft sole (ballet pumps are best or dance trainers), alternatively you could dance barefoot. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately.
