Stained Glass

On this stained glass course students will learn traditional techniques and complete a finished project of their own choice in stained glass. Areas covered will include choice of different glass colours and types and how this affects the overall design, cutting glass, leading the panel, cementing and soldering, cleaning and finishing This course is for students who enjoy working with their hands and are motivated to develop their creative skills whilst learning new skills and techniques for making a project in stained glass. It is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience

Entry requirements

For the first session novice students should bring an A3 size sheet of 3mm clear glass plus drawing materials. Returning or experienced students should bring design ideas and drawing materials. Please do not buy tools without first consulting the tutor. The cost of tools will be approximately £30. The cost of consumables, lead, glass etc will depend on the projects undertaken. Health and safety issues will be discussed at the first session. Wear old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty, bring aprons and latex gloves .Notepad and pencil.
