Drawing and painting for beginners course .This course in Sevenoaks is for those who wish to try out a variety of techniques and mediums who are new to Art or those returning to the subject. By the end of the 2 courses you should be able to :- demonstrate different drawing and painting techniques, identify and use the colour wheel to create striking visual images. develop an understanding of tone, light and shade and 3D effects. consider the elements which form effective composition. Anybody who has always wanted to have a go at drawing and painting but has never had the chance or the time until now, with expert guidance to help you then you could achieve amazing results!, If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol. It is important to note that Art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices.If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
