This is an Oil painting and Acrylic course in Sevenoaks for those who want to produce oil paintings or acrylic paintings that are both tutor-led and student centred on a more challenging level then this is the course for you. Develop your paintings skills and further your understanding of colour mixing during this course. Students will be encouraged to research and develop their own ideas from both observed and imagined starting points using a sketchbook. By the end of the course you should be able to :- have researched specific artists in relation to a chosen period of art history. demonstrate various techniques using painting knives. create an underpainting to develop the preparatory stages of your work. demonstrate various techniques for depicting clouds and skies. Students who have completed the Intermediate course or have the equivalent experience.It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity for you to participate fully and get the most out of the course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and a variety of pencils.You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Some of our centres have their own 'shops' where you are able to buy things at competitive prices.If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
