The course is designed to expand knowledge and techniques, developing further skills through a range of weekly tutored workshops. Students will have the opportunity to experience ,explore and develop a their watercolour skills. The course will also include personal projects, allowing you the time to develop and interpret your own creative ideas. By the end of the course students should be able to: Apply a range of watercolour techniques, i.e: wash, graded wash, wet in wet to create finished studies and paintings. Select and prepare papers appropriate for purpose, i.e: stretched Somereset/Bockingford NOT and Rough paper, unstretched Cartridge paper. Experiment with and apply brushes appropriately to achieve a range of mark making, i.e.: 6 and 8 for detail and calligraphic markmaking, 12 for washes and broader areas, fan brush for texture. Demonstrate the use of the formal elements, in paintings, for example: colour theory, tone, composition, perspective and proportion, Apply techniques learned to create a portfolio of work, covering still life, landscapes and architecture. This course is for enthusiastic students who have completed a beginner's class, or for those who have attained a basic level of competence.
