This 'Childhood Sexual Abuse II - Working with Survivors' workshop in Maidstone follows on from 'Childhood Sexual Abuse I - Understanding the Impact on the Survivor' and focuses on the way forward in supporting the survivor. Predominantly targeted on those in the psychological therapy field, this workshop is still relevant for other professionals whose client group is high risk. The course content covers: Working within boundaries, The Importance of the helping relationship, Trauma and complex trauma, Creative art strategies, Sex therapy techniques, Educating the survivor as a means of growth. Common themes that emerge in the work. Potential pitfalls in treatment, The course is delivered through tutor presentations and small group discussions on reflective activities. The course provides 5 hours of CPD. For staff working within the statutory and voluntary sectors where childhood sexual abuse (CSA) is identified as an underlying concern for their client group. The course content is tailored to meet the needs of a variety of support staff roles, including counsellors/psychotherapists who client base includes abuse survivors.
