This Digital Photography - Advanced Projects course in Gravesend is aimed at photographers who have some prior experience and knowledge of digital photography and who wish to learn new skills and take their photographic practice further. Students will be taught practical photographic and post processing Photoshop techniques in specific areas whilst having the opportunity to conceive personal projects to strengthen students personal interests and practice. During the course, you will produce one interim project at Week 4 and one final project in Week 8. These projects are self-directed and you are expected to participate in classroom discussions and peer-to-peer review of work which is aimed at helping guide and develop initial ideas. The course aims are to: Produce a series or sequence of images. A body of work. - Gain an advanced level of understanding regarding the use of cameras and Photoshop Elements. - Develop, present and discuss the compositional, technical and conceptual ideas behind project work. For students who have their own digital SLR camera, bridge camera or digital range finders and would like to be able to use them more confidently. The course will focus on accessing the manual features of these types of cameras. The course is not appropriate for students with digital compact cameras or for beginners wishing to learn more about photography using automatic camera settings. You will need either a DSLR or advanced Bridge Camera (with Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual settings - A,S,M on the mode wheel) as well as USB cable or card reader. Please bring any other relevant materials and equipment that you have e.g. camera to computer download cable, camera handbook, USB stick if you have one. and have a fully charged battery in your camera. A notebook and pen can be useful. Please note:- If you are storing any data/images on transferrable data devices (memory sticks, portable hard drives, etc), please make sure that you have back-up files saved elsewhere and when removing devices have followed the 'safely removing hardware' guidelines on the PC.
