This course covers different hand building techniques such as pinching, coiling and slabbing. It also covers basic throwing and turning skills. You will be encouraged to make and experiment using a combination of these techniques. You will also be taught different decoration techniques to apply colour using slip, glaze and oxides. Beginners and those with some experience. It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak to the programme manager before you enrol.

Materials and firing are costed by weight and size of the item and charged separately. Please bring an apron or overall to the lessons. If you any pottery tools bring them to the first session but do not buy any equipment until you have spoken with the tutor.
