Oil Painting - Beginners

This course provides an opportunity for students to learn some basic oil painting skills in a supportive environment. Students will work at a speed at which they feel comfortable. This course is suitable for those with no prior experience of oil painting and those who wish to revisit basic skills. It is important to note that art courses are practical requiring a degree of manual dexterity for students to participate fully and get the most out of the course.

Entry requirements

If you are a new student and have no materials, please wait for your tutor's advice on what to buy. However, all students should bring an A4 sketchbook of good quality cartridge paper, preferably with a hard cover and ring bound and a variety of pencils. You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Our centre has a stock of basic items available at competitive prices. If you have any materials/equipment that might be appropriate please bring them with you.
