UPDATED 20150720 09:43:07

This course in Deal will enable students to 'have a go' at creative writing, unlock their creativity, express themselves and explore prose techniques. By the end of the course students should be able to: devise atmosphere and characters for short stories, write dialogues, evaluate how much plot is needed in a story, experiments with different genres, evaluate their own work and the work of others in a constructive manner, You will develop a writing discipline through class writing exercises and weekly assignments. You will explore both how to write creatively and how to write effectively. You can choose whether to write from your own life or fiction. You will also explore another aspect of creative writing, such as, poetry or play writing. You will have the opportunity to review and refine your work to achieve a finished piece with which you are satisfied. There is an expectation that you will share your writing in class and learn to give and receive constructive feedback. This course in Deal is for people who are interested in creative writing but have little or no experience. The course is aimed at beginner writers with a passionate desire to write who want to explore their own creativity but need to develop their own voice and styles and discover if they have a talent for fiction.
