Complementary Therapies, Spa and Beauty Therapy Level 2

Who is the programme for? Students over the age of 16. This course offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain a level 2 qualification in Complementary (Holistic) Therapies and level 2 Beauty Therapy modules, which include basic body massage, manicure, basic aromatherapy, facials, healthy eating, basic reflexology and waxing. What is the programme structure? The programme is modular and students build up a series of units towards a level 2 qualification in both Complementary Therapies and units of a level 2 in Beauty Therapy. What does the programme include? - Clinic Services & Business awareness - Anatomy & physiology - Nutrition - Provide basic Aromatherapy - Provide basic Reflexology - Provide manicure treatment - Remove hair using waxing techniques - Provide facial skin care - Provide body massage - Prepare the Spa area - Work placement Requirements: - Wear professional dress as recommended by the College, including shoes - High standards of personal hygiene - Be able to work effectively with others and be willing to carry out and receive all treatments. - Excellent attendance is required (100% expected, minimum 90% acceptable) - Remove all jewellery, including facial piercings (in line with Awarding Body requirements) and have short nails with no nail polish - Hair must be well groomed and tied back if long On completion of the course there is the opportunity for students to progress to a Level 3 Spa or Level 3 Beauty Therapy course. Professional treatment rooms open to the public offer realistic working environments and specialist practical rooms are available for the relevant modules. What award will I achieve?
