Who is the programme for? Students over 16 who want to work towards a career in the nail industry. What is the programme structure? Theory and practical The course is made up of 11 units What does the programme include? Level 3 VRQ units include:- 301 - Working with colleagues within beauty related industries 302 - Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon 303 - Client care and communication in beauty related industries 304 - Promote and sell products and services to the client 213 - Display stock 314 - Apply and maintain nail enhancements 320 - Enhance Nails using electric files 328 - Airbrush design for the nails 329 - Design and apply nail art 334 - Nail enhancements and advanced hand and nail art techniques 332 - Explore technological developments within the hair, beauty and associated area Requirements: - Wear professional dress as recommended by the College including shoes - High standards of personal hygiene - Be able to work effectively with others and be willing to carry out and receive all treatments. You will also be required to treat male clients - Excellent attendance is required (100% expected, minimum 90% acceptable) - Remove all jewellery, including facial piercings (in line with Awarding Body requirements) and have short nails with no nail polish - Hair must be well groomed and tied back if long Are there any special facilities for the programme? The College's Enhance salon offers a realistic working environment. Visits to nail exhibitions are also organised as part of the course.
