Course summaryThis 22 week course is for those who have already completed a Beginners – Moving On or those with a little knowledge of the language and wish to progress further.It will develop your range of everyday language that can be used in a variety of settings e.g. holiday social and work. Using a variety of learning materials such as DVDs CDs practical activities games books and the internet the main emphasis will be on learning to speak and understand simple phrases.The sessions will enable you to cope in a variety of situations you might find yourself in when visiting a country where they speak your chosen language.You will also discover a little about the culture the country and its people. What experience or skills do I need to join this course?This is an ideal progression course for learners who have completed a Moving On course or who have a little basic knowledge of the language. What is the course about?A range of basic words and phrases covering topics such as:? shopping? transport? tourist information? dining out? likes and dislikes? plus other practical skills such as telling the time and talking about the weather. Speak to your tutor about other topics that may interest you as these can be added in by negotiation with the group. For the first session you will need:Pen/pencil/paper . A4 folder to store handouts notes vocabulary and worksheets.Details of course materials you may wish to purchase will be given at the first session.A dictionary could be useful but is not essential – please talk to your tutor.
