Course summary This course is for people that have not tried glass making before and want to get started with this exciting medium. You will be shown techniques that allow you to create pieces of glass using a range of materials and tools. You will experiment with colour texture and light to make a variety of different finishes. You will create a number of pieces which can include: Wall hanging Coasters Glass pieces for jewellery A clock A plate What experience or skills do I need to join this course? None required What is the course about? Glass cutting Designing glass pieces Accessory glass metal inclusions and sheet glass Different firing temperatures Health and safety requirements Glass compatibility For the first session you will need: A notebook and pencil sensible footwear - no open toe shoes and an apron Additional costs and/or resources: The costs of firing glass pieces is included in the price of the course tools are also available. You will receive a glass pack from your tutor. A basic glass pack for the course is around £35 which is included in the cost of your course you can buy additionals items if required during the course if you want to make more extensive pieces.
