Name: HND Electrical and Electronic Engineering Qualification title: BTEC HND Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Formative or summative assessment methods will include Unseen examinations / class tests. Laboratory assignments / practical work / log book records / reports. Learning Portfolio Case Studies Presentations and oral examinations Problem solving exercises Essay assignments Design tasks Computer-based/Simulation exercises Poster displays Individual projects and reports and Graduate Show presentations. The variety and flexibility of the assessment strategy is designed to offer you the opportunity to show your different strengths, and to demonstrate personal, intellectual, professional, values based, practical, attitudinal and emotional development as you progress through the award and towards becoming HND graduate in Electrical Engineering. Each module is assessed summatively, but also has integrated formative assessment to enable you to assess your own progress. Formative feedback forms part of the individual modules, using strategies such as group tutorials, self-assessment, practical exercises and feedback from peers and module tutors. You will be provided with support regarding additional specific or personal needs, and assignment referral/failure within the module handbooks/award handbook and via student support services. Formative feedback is provided in a variety of ways including: Blackboard, informally by personal tutors discussing areas of improvement and formally by module tutors reviewing coursework and examination performance in one-to-one student appraisal sessions. Summative feedback is provided via written comments on assignment and cover sheets by the assessor.
