It is suitable for those who can speak, read and write fluently. Most of our students are aiming to gain a Grade C or better as these are the grades usually required by educational institutions and employers. We will offer the Higher paper to those candidates who demonstrate suitability via their controlled assessments after completing the first term.

You will, therefore, practise and be assessed in: Speaking and Listening - presenting, discussing and role playing Reading and Writing (including use of spelling, grammar, punctuation and handwriting) Response to a set text Researching a set topic Oral and written work may be based on what you have read or researched. Please note that those for whom English is a second language might find other courses, such as ESOL, more suitable.
