Pottery and Clay Modelling Workshop

UPDATED 20150715 08:48:42

Pottery and clay modelling is one of the most ancient and fundamental of crafts, basically unchanged throughout thousands of years of human history. The action of forming a lump of clay with your hands into an artefact or utensil, for pleasure or need, is about as elemental as it gets. Techniques have been refined somewhat over the years - wheels, kilns and bespoke tools have all played their part - but the basics haven't changed. There is little wonder that pottery has such a fascination and therapeutic appeal for so many. This course is designed for anyone with an interest in and enthusiasm for the craft and is suitable for beginners as well as for those with some previous experience. You will develop a number of different skills enabling you to make a wide range of domestic pottery and decorative objects. You are bound to enjoy this very practical and relaxing activity so come and join our group of like-minded potters
