If you want to work as an accountant or study accountancy further, possibly without going to university, this is the course for you.This course is a national vocational qualification (NVQ) which provides the practical vocational skills needed to work successfully in an accounting role. You will learn the skills you need to become an accountant through regular practice of the techniques covered in class.The course is divided into two parts. The autumn term provides an introduction to accounting by completion of the Level 2 Certificate. You will learn the basics of book-keeping and costing as well as computerised accounting and working effectively in accounting and finance.In January you will progress to the Level 3 Diploma, where you will be introduced to the basics of financial and management accounting, spreadsheet software, VAT, cash management and professional ethics.

Name: Fast Track AAT Qualification title: Certificate in Accounting (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Learning accounting techniques requires lots of practice. You will receive regular homework to enable you to practice the skills you have learned in class.Most of the units you study will be assessed by computer-based external exams. For some units you will complete an online assessment which will be marked by your tutor.The final qualifications will be AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. Entry requirements

Additional costs depend on your age at the start of the course. If you are under 19 you will have to pay for AAT Registration (approximately £135) and for textbooks (approximately £220).If you are over 19 you will have to pay for textbooks, AAT registration and a full course fee, though financial support may be available in some cases.
