Willow wreaths for christmas How will this course help me? To make your own decorations from willow including wreaths and stars. Who is the course for? Beginners and those with previous experience of willow. What can I expect to Learn? To make a woven willow ring How to decorate with evergreen foliage, dried fruits, seeds, seedpods To recycle objects such as unwanted or broken jewellery, buttons and ribbons into your wreath To make simple willow stars to use as tree decorations or hangings How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. Your tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring any natural materials you would like to use, such as cones, dried fruit, seeds. Also, any re-used or recycled materials you would like to use, such as special trimmings, unwanted or broken jewellery, buttons, ribbons, etc. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.?) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next? You may wish to come on some of our other art in the environment, recycling crafts or textile courses.
