NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills This course is for those who want to learn counselling skills to help and support others either in a voluntary or employed capacity, providing skills that can be used in a variety of roles. This is a recognised Full Level 2 Certificate. About the course: To introduce learners to the use of Counselling Skills in everyday life and work and some of the approaches that underpin those skills. There are four mandatory units: Using counselling skills (4 credits) Learners will have the opportunity to identify and practise a range of skills used when participating in a counselling skills interaction. Introduction to counselling skills theories (4 credits) Learners will be introduced to the key elements of the main theoretical approaches to counselling. Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills (4 Credits) Learners will be introduced to the concepts of diversity and ethics and their importance in the use of counselling skills. Counselling skills and personal development (4 credits) Learners will have an opportunity to reflect on their personal and future development and identify potential sources of support. To achieve the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, learners must achieve all 4 mandatory units. Learners must provide evidence to show that they meet all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria defined in the units and provide a portfolio of evidence which will be externally verified. The first session: There will be an introduction to the course and enrolment. Please bring a pen and paper/notepad. Additional information: In order to ensure that learners get the most from the course and are equipped to achieve the qualification, there will be a literacy screening before the start of the course. Learners will have to complete some research, assignment work and will complete a learning review each week.
