Italian Improvers How will this course help me? The course aims to develop your skills and knowledge of the language and culture Who is the course for? The course is designed for people who have successfully completed a Beginners course (or similar), and wish to develop their language skills. What can I expect to learn? Learners will be able to: Take part in a simple conversation and express opinions Understand the main points and some detail from a spoken passage made up of familiar language in simple sentences Understand the main points and some of the detail from short written texts in familiar contexts Write a short text on a familiar topic, adapting language already learnt using simple sentences. Some topics include (To be agreed with tutor at first session) Greetings / Personal information Shopping / Food and drink Directions / Travel / Accommodation. How will I learn? There are no exams or formal assessments. A variety of communicative activities will be used such as: role play, games and listening to audio files. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? You will need to bring a pen and paper. You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next?
