Creative Writing Who is the course for? Beginners to the subject and those with some experience. This course is intended for people who enjoy writing or would like to develop skills to start and are keen to gain ideas about how to improve the quality of their work. What can I expect to Learn? Develop confidence to express yourself clearly and effectively in your writing. Develop techniques, which you will be able to use to help you to find ideas and develop them further Examine the components of writing Health and safety aspects will be covered as appropriate to the course. How will I learn? You will receive individual and group tuition, and work at your own pace. There will be a wide variety of writing tasks suggested. There will also be opportunities for you to share and discuss your work and look for ways to improve it in a supportive environment. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. If you think that you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the centre staff. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. Your tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring along a pen or pencil and paper. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next? You may want to come on some of our other Get Creative courses or to progress on to a course with a qualification. Discuss your next steps with your tutor or the Centre staff.
