Woolcraft – Beginners How will this course help me? You will develop skills at your own pace, completing a number of different wool techniques including knitting, crocheting, finger knitting, etc. Who is the course for? This course is for the learners who have little or no previous experience and who need help and support to learn. What can I expect to Learn? Knitting 1. How to cast on & off 2. How to read and follow a knitting pattern 3. How to knit a project Crocheting 1. How to crochet different types of stitches 2. How to read and follow a pattern 3. How to Crochet a project Finger knitting 1. How to use your fingers to knit 2. How to read and follow a pattern 3. How to Finger knit a project How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring any spare wool, kneedles or crochet hooks to the class. Bring a pen & paper. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may need to buy additional resources such as wool, knitting needles, crochet hook etc.
