Sewing for Pleasure How will this course help me? You will develop practical sewing skills in a friendly, social environment in which to learn. You will develop confidence and sewing skills in chosen area. Who is the course for? This course is for beginners or if you have some experience of sewing. What can I expect to Learn? Dressmaking Soft Furnishing Needlecrafts Sewing with Fine Fabrics and Lace Health and safety aspects How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? The equipment needed and project choice will be discussed at the first session. Please bring a pen and paper. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next? You may wish to progress onto a variety of Get Creative courses are available.
