This course is ideal if you are an experienced playworker aged 18+ working with children and young people aged 416 years and want to take the next step in your career. You develop expertise in and an understanding of the management of play environments and the line management of other staff. In addition, you will cover the knowledge and skills needed to work unsupervised. Please note you need a minimum of 1 year's current experience in a suitable play environment either as a paid employee or as a volunteer and/or an existing Level 2 qualification. Relevant settings include, before/after school care/holiday club/scout and guiding association. You also need to be employed for a minimum of 14 hours per week at the start of and for the duration of, this course as you will be assessed in the workplace. As this course requires a good level of English, you will undertake an assessment during the first class to confirm your place.On completing this qualification, you could progress to a Foundation Degree or find work in roles such as playworker in a holiday club, playwork development officer, adventure centre supervisor, hospital playworker and manager of any playwork provisions.
