Safer People Moving and Handling

Do you work in Health & Social Care, want to work in Health & Social Care, or have an unpaid caring responsibility for someone with a physical disability? In all these cases it is vital you know how to safely and correctly lift and handle the person you are caring for, and the equipment needed, to ensure their dignity. This course covers everything from the anatomy of the spine and types of injuries, responsibilities, risk assessments, personal plans and moving and lifting people and equipment as well as other essential information.You need to be 18 and physically fit to undertake this practical based course. Please wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Upon completion you will receive a Shipley College Certificate.Please note your employer will still need to train you on how to use your workplace equipment safely.
