Creative Textiles with Karen Smith

This course is perfect if you want to develop the skills needed to create homemade crafts, (please be aware this is not a dressmaking course). Our tutor will cover the following:Autumn term:Surface treatments e.g. stencilling, print block, resist dying and Batik.A Homemade Christmas workshop learn how to make soft toys and tree decorations.Spring term:Six surfaces to stitch create a small decorative book by using different techniques including Plyfusion, Tyveck and Embossing.Machine Stitching learn how to use a machine to applique and embroider.Summer term:Stitch, paper, print, cloth, text and image create homemade cards.Felt Making learn how to make a small handmade felt cushion and felt jewellery.A materials list will be provided on enrolment.
