In the second year you will study two published plays: Lady Windermere’s Fan by Oscar Wilde and A View from the Bridge by Arthur Miller. Similarly to the first year, you will be expected to write a dramatic written response to both of these plays in the end-of-year exam. You will also choose a specific style of theatre you are interested in to create a fully devised performance. A Level Drama and Theatre Studies will train you from both a practical performance and an academic point of view, enabling you to gain skills that are suited to many different progression opportunities. Students who have achieved this A Level have gone on to study a range of different courses at university, including English, sociology, nursing, teaching and of course degree courses in drama or acting. Many students enter the professional industry of performing arts.
