Based at ncn Basford Hall, you will have access to the College's state-of-the-art construction workshops with all the latest facilities, machinery and equipment. The course provides an excellent balance between hands-on, practical modules and theory-based lessons, enabling you to utilise the skills you learn and gain a good overall understanding of the construction industry as a whole. During the course you will learn about the storage of materials, health and safety practices, applying water and oil based paints, stripping surfaces of paint and paper, sanding, scaffolding, the preparation of surfaces, and the application of paint by spraying. You will also cover the following: Selecting materials, components and equipment Basic coverings to walls and ceilings Application of primers Producing specialist decorative finishes Building methods and construction technology.
