Throughout this course you will be learning about the relationship of human populations to each other over space and time and their relationship with their physical environment at a variety of scales from the local to the global. All units specified offer opportunities for candidates to consider their own roles, values and attitudes in relation to themes and issues being studied, and the roles, values and attitudes of others including decision makers. At A-Level, the core course focuses on the following areas: rivers, floods and management and population change. Optional modules include: cold environments, coastal environments and desert environments, food supply issues, energy issues, health issues, hazards related to climate and plate tectonics, investigation into geographical issues surrounding contemporary conflict and the challenges of globalisation
