This course is for motivated, enthusiastic people interested in a career working with children who do not currently have GCSE Maths and English at Grade C. Successful completion of this course and GCSE Maths and English could allow you to progress onto the National Certificate where you will gain Early Years Educator Status. This would then be the recommended level of qualification required to undertake such roles as working with children under 8 as a Keyworker or Nursery Assistant in an Early Years Foundation Stage setting or as a Teaching Assistant in a Reception class in Primary schools. It is also a 'gateway' qualification for many other careers within the Children's Workforce such as Portage Worker, Family Support Worker, SENCO or Children's Holiday Representative. Those who wish to continue into Higher Education will gain UCAS points for the EYE which will enable them to progress into careers such as Early Years or Primary Teacher, Social Worker, Speech & Language Therapist or Play Therapist among others.
