This is a course for school leavers and adult learners who are keen to study and work with animals, particularly those kept in a zoo environment. Ideal if: you are keen to learn about animals, particularly those kept in a zoo environment. You'll need: one GCSE at grade C or above in English, mathematics and/or science, an excellent level of attendance at school and a keen interest in exotic animals. You'll learn: about animal health and welfare, animal housing and feeding, care of exotic animals, caring for zoo animals, animal behaviour and handling and working in industry. Expect: to develop your employability skills by undertaking a one day per week work placement in an animal-based organisation of your choice. You'll love: spending time at Dartmoor Zoological Park, working with exotic animals, learning about the specialist care they require. You'll go onto: work in animal management or progress to further study on our level 3 Extended Diplomas or progress to an animal care apprenticeship.
