This course is designed for learners who have no previous knowledge of the subject, and who wish to get a thorough grounding in the correct construction, recognition and usage of medical terminology. The course takes a structural approach, focusing on how medical terms are built from a combination of roots, prefixes and suffixes and the recognition of these terms from given definitions. It covers terminology and abbreviations relating to body systems, medical specialities and pharmacology.
