Ideal if: you wish to pursue a career in the hairdressing industry. You'll need: at least two GCSEs at grade G or above, or an equivalent qualification. You'll learn:the basic techniques of hairdressing and barbering alongside customer care and retail product knowledge & sales. Expect: to train in purpose built salons which are open to the public. You'll love: the industry focus of this course, working in a fast paced and creative environment. You'll go on to: employment, an apprenticeship or further studies at level 2 on our Women's Hairdressing Diploma. If you have just left school and looking to begin your hairdressing career, then this course is for you! The Hairdressing and Barbering Level 1 Certificate is the first year of a two-year pathway to become a qualified hairdresser. Applicants for this course will be newcomers or recent school leavers. You will learn how to achieve the latest looks and gain a broad understanding of hairdressing.
