UPDATED 20150709 13:14:25

Ideal if: you have experience working in a kitchen and would like to improve your skills. You'll need: a minimum of grade C or above in GCSE English and mathematics, or equivalent qualification, and practical food skills; which will be assessed for all new entrants unless you have paseed the Level 1 qualification. You'll learn: key cooking methods and techniques such as making stocks, soups, sauces and the preparing and cooking of shellfish, hot and cold desserts and a variety of meats. Expect: to be assessed throughout your course through assignments, projects and practical examinations. You'll love: learning the techniques you will need to have, to work as a senior chef in a professional kitchen. You'll go onto: further studies on our Advanced Professional Cookery City & Guilds Diploma ( Kitchen & Larder), or Professional Patisserie and Confectionery City & Guilds Diploma, or an apprenticeship. The Professional Cookery Diploma is run in conjunction with the level 2 food and Beverage Diploma, so students who successfully complete their course will not only receive two qualifications, but a real insight into food preparation and service.
