On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) helps experienced workers get the qualifications to prove they can do the job. It turns their existing skills and experience into a nationally recognised qualification such as an NVQ or SVQ. Having these qualifications also helps qualify them for a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card On-site Assessment and Training (OSAT) is a method of assessing the skills and knowledge of people in the workplace and helps turns their existing skills and experience into a NVQ The OSAT method involves a Construction assessor visiting the learner s place of work or site and working with them to build up a portfolio of evidence that prove their skills and knowledge. This route generally takes four or five visits over a period of approximately 6 to 12 months dependent on experience OSAT training is ideal for learners who have some experience of their trade or profession and wish to gain a qualification to support their experience.
