Welding processes covered can be MIG (Metal Inert Gas), MMA (Manual Metal Arc), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) or MAGS (Metal Arc Gas Shielded). Positions can be overhead, vertical, horizontal/vertical and flat. Depending on your competence you will undertake an assessment process by staff holding a 'Welding Institute Certificate of Competence in Approval Testing' Additional training is available if candidates haven't reached the required competence. Candidates will be required to produce test pieces in the required position and process, in accordance with the requirements of BS 4872.
