F524 - The Diploma in Music Technology is a one year course designed to introduce you to the skills needed to become a sound engineer. You will learn how to use music technology to create audio and visual products. All activities will be underpinned by a core knowledge of operational skills and professional practice. The course is equivalent to 1.5 A levels. The course is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of Music. Assignments on the course vary in timescale and type depending on the nature of the project. The Level 3 Diploma in Music Technology is a 9 unit qualification (achieved in year one only). Previous L3 Diploma students have gone on to study HE at various Universities. The most popular is BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology based at High Melton. Opportunities exist to enter the Creative Industries at a Junior Level but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including studio engineer, producer and live sound engineer.
